What this is

The Space Thread is an independent channel on SpaceX, Starlink, launch cadence, spectrum and the wider space economy. We start with the obscure documents: FCC orders, ULS and ICFS filings, SEC releases and launch logs. Each post has a thesis, two or three numbers and a short verdict.

How numbers are verified

• Every figure is read from a primary source on the day we post: the filing, the release or the raw launch data.
• Press reports are used to cross check, not as the only source.
• Anything we cannot re read that day is dropped, not rounded or guessed.
• Figures from people familiar with a deal are labeled unconfirmed or left out.
• Chart data is published as CSV on the Data page.
